Vitamin D reduces Corona virus risk!
Boosting your vitamin D blood levels is likely to make a massive difference to how you survive a Corona virus infection...
Picture: Vitamin D with Vitamin K2 is cheap, available and could massively decrease your risk of serious Corona virus illness,
provided you start supplementing now, to get your blood levels up. You could buy it online - For example,

Mark Longley:Studies show vitamin D could help reduce COVID-19 mortality rate
The British Medical Association has also called for a review into using vitamin D after 94 per cent of the healthcare workers who died from COVID-19 were from a black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME, or black and minority ethnic) background.
Dark skin with a higher melanin level produces less vitamin D from the sun, so when people with darker skin live in a country with low rates of sunshine, such as the UK, vitamin D deficiency occurs.
Adrian Martineau, a professor of respiratory infection and immunity at Queen Mary University of London, told The Guardian deaths among BAME NHS staff had highlighted the issue of vitamin D deficiency.
"Vitamin D could almost be thought of as a designer drug for helping the body to handle viral respiratory infections," Martineau said.

Evidence that Vitamin D Supplementation Could Reduce Risk of Influenza and COVID-19 Infections and Deaths.
"Evidence supporting the role of vitamin D in reducing risk of COVID-19 includes that the outbreak occurred in winter, a time when 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) concentrations are lowest; that the number of cases in the Southern Hemisphere near the end of summer are low; that vitamin D deficiency has been found to contribute to acute respiratory distress syndrome; and that case-fatality rates increase with age and with chronic disease comorbidity, both of which are associated with lower 25(OH)D concentration".
To reduce the risk of infection, it is recommended that people at risk of influenza and/or COVID-19 consider taking 10,000 IU/d of vitamin D3 for a few weeks to rapidly raise 25(OH)D concentrations, followed by 5000 IU/d. The goal should be to raise 25(OH)D concentrations above 40-60 ng/mL (100-150 nmol/L). For treatment of people who become infected with COVID-19, higher vitamin D3 doses might be useful. Randomized controlled trials and large population studies should be conducted to evaluate these recommendations".

Vitamin D Supplementation Could Possibly Improve Clinical Outcomes of Patients Infected with Coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19)

The researcher found that:-
Vitamin D status is significantly associated with clinical outcomes. A multinomial logistic regression analysis reported that for each standard deviation increase in serum 25(OH)D, the odds of having a mild clinical outcome rather than a severe outcome were approximately 7.94 times (OR=0.126, p<0.001)The researcher concluded:

Al Asyary and Meita Veruswati:Sunlight exposure increased Covid-19 recovery rates: A study in the central pandemic area of Indonesia
An Indonesian study of 780 COVID hospitalizations showed that low blood vitamin D in COVID virus-infected patients was a strong predictor for serious illness or death:
Patient admitted with the following blood test level of Vitamin D in ng/ml | Likelihood of progression to mild symptoms | Likelihood of progression to ordinary symptoms | Likelihood of progression to severe or critical symptoms |
---|---|---|---|
(1) normal (Greater than 30) | 85% | 7.20% | 7.20% |
(2) insufficient: Between 21 and 29 | 1.30% | 43.80% | 56% |
(3) deficient Less than 20 | 1.40% | 26% | 72.80% |

6. Vitamin D protects against colds and flu, finds major global study
This massive study showed that, for patients with low blood levels of vitamin D, a daily or weekly vitamin D supplement reduced their risk of respiratory infection by a factor of three! -Note that (according to this study), the common medical practice of prescribing a monthly vitamin D "bolus" dose, does not reduce your risk of respiratory infection, reduces the effectiveness of daily dosing; and cannot be recommended for the purpose of reducing the risk of respiratory infection under any circumstances whatsoever. It's simply not a good practice. Better to go for daily vitamin D - no monthly bolus dose, and ideally with blood test confirmation to check that it's working.
