Making your informed consent for the COVID vaccination in New Zealand
How do I go about making my informed consent for my COVID shot?

The answer is to do your own research, in your own time. Your doctor or vaccination provider is being paid to offer a least-cost service and so has limited time and resources to bring you up to speed during your half hour vacc-visit. It's up to you to take responsibility for your own health. Nobody else will do this for you. Here's what you need to know...

1. Video from the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Canada
This video better covers the issues than the one that the New Zealand authorities currently offer.
2. NZ vaccination screening guidance from the New Zealand Immunisation Advisory Centre
(Please spare a thought for the vaccination technician. They will be very busy if they apply the full vaccination screening policy in this document!
3. NZ Ministry of Heath COVID 19 Vaccination consent form
(Also includes sub-articles:-

- Privacy
- (Last paragraph) ‘Reporting Adverse Events after Observation Period’
4. Adverse reaction reporting
In an ideal world your medical practice or vaccination provider would report a bad reaction on your behalf. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. In my veterinary days, I was the one veterinarian that would do the adverse reporting. The others wouldn't bother. I don't think that a busy medical practice or vaccine clinic will be much different. As you can imagine, I didn't make myself popular with the vaccine companies, but that is another story! So if your provider can't or won't report your adverse reaction, it is up to you. It is your right and your duty (for the wellbeing of all New Zealanders), to report your adverse reaction.

5. A remarkably safe and effective vaccine - at least in the short term.
The pfizer vaccination that we will receive in New Zealand, in my veterinary based opinion (I've done a lot of pet vaccinations and I know how problematic Coronavirus vaccines have been in farm animals and pets), is remarkably safe and effective in the short term. Long term, however? - We don't know. The PFIZER "Comirnaty" and other RNA vaccines use a new and still experimental technology that may turn out to be safe but may not. It could be extremely bad for long term health. We just don't know. Should we for example vaccinate children? - It's hard to infect healthy children with COVID (see tables below), and even when they are infected, they rarely show signs and are poor virus spreaders. Is vaccinating a child worth the as yet unkown risk?
Tables transcribed and translated from the original Italian, from the "Italian Epidemiology site of the National Institute of Health provided for operators of the national health service":-
COVID-19 epidemic National update April 2, 2020
These tables show that a healthy child is 28 times less likely than a fifty year old to be infected and if infected, extremely unlikely to go on to die from that infection. (Why is this information not reported in the English language??? - Please let me know if you do find it in English).

6. Challenge to the legality of the New Zealand Government rollout plan “for the Injection of all New Zealanders
Government ministries, likewise big pharmacy and vaccination corporations, have a variable track record on honesty and accountability. So it is appropriate that they be called to account if a problem is perceived. Lawyer Sue Grey of Nelson voices her concerns Here. Ms Grey has a degree in science so is well qualified to offer her science-based legal opinion.
