Dear Bruce,
It has been just over 3 months since you first downloaded my free ebook and began your journey to better gut health.
So I just wanted to send a quick email to see how things are going.
Especially because I've seen many readers get to the 3-month mark and still suffer with poor gut health.
Now there can be all sorts of reasons for this.
But over the years I've found it is usually because something important is missing from their health protocol.
The problem is it can be very hard to work out what is missing by yourself.
So I came up with a simple list of questions to ask, which should highlight the areas (if any) that might need some extra attention.
That way you can hopefully start feeling better, sooner rather than later.
Over the last 3 months have you...
1) Eliminated all major causes?
This is THE most important thing to focus on, because if you neglect it leaky gut will be your BFF for life.
So just to refresh our memory, the main causes of leaky gut that you need to avoid are...
...gut-inflaming foods (gluten, grains, refined sugars etc), drinks (alcohol & coffee), chronic stress (from work, family life etc) and exposure to all kinds of toxins (from personal care products to unnecessary medications).
2) Fasted?
Few things can help our systems reset better than a fast.
So if you haven't yet, speak to your doctor about the possibility of doing a 48-72 hour fast - with the option of drinking bone broth throughout.
3) Eaten well?
To answer 'yes' to this, you really need to have eaten extremely clean for the last 6 weeks.
And by clean we are of course referring to a diet almost exclusively made up of real foods like green & colorful vegetables, wild fish/seafood, pastured chicken/eggs, healthy fats (extra virgin olive oil, avocado etc) and some nuts and low-sugar fruit.
That is a very strict diet no doubt.
But that is what our guts crave.
And trust me, if you can stick to it, they will show the love back a 100 times over!
4) Supplemented?
This is often the one thing missing from peoples protocols.
And although supplements are nowhere near as important as avoiding the causes of leaky gut and eating well, they can help give people that final push.
So if you haven't already, consider trying L-Glutamine, as well as taking digestive enzymes and probiotics.
5) Practiced gut-friendly lifestyle habits?
If you're doing everything above, but missing this, then that could explain any stalling in your progress.
Lifestyle habits we love for gut health include, deep breathing, meditation, sleeping 8-9 hours a night, relaxing, long walks and exercising lightly.
How did you go?
If you found something that might need to be adjusted for your protocol, then please do.
By ensuring you have ALL your boxes ticked, you will dramatically increase your chances of getting better.
Richard
